Our products are ISO, CE, FDA approved. The Fiberglass Synthetic Casting Tape is made of knitted fiberglass fabric and water-activated polyurethane resin. It uses environmental friendly materials, and mainly used for the external fixation of fracture and common orthopedics. This product has many advantages comparing with plaster bandage. It is the upgraded and replaced product of the traditional plaster bandage. Our Fiberglass Orthopedic Casting Tape has strength and it is easier to be cut than Polyester casting tape. Cast consists of knitted fiberglass fabric & is impregnated with a water-activated polyurethane resin.

Application instruction:
- Apply 1-2 layers stockinet over the affected part and additional padding can be used
- Wear surgical gloves
- Before opening the bag, choose the proper size
- Immerse the cast in room temperature water (20-25OC) for 4-6 seconds and squeeze it 2-3 times. The warmer the water is, the shorter the setting time is
- Wrap the cast spirally, overlapping one-half or two-thirds width of the cast on the previous layer. Take care to maintain proper tension and avoid wrapping too tight. The strength can be determined by the number of layers wrapped. Just 3-4 layers should be wrapped on the non-weight-bearing position and 5-6 layers should be wrapped on the weight bearing position
- If more rolls of cast are used at one time, make sure the good adhesiveness of each cast
- Smooth and rub the surface to achieve good adhesiveness between layers. The cast start solidifying in 3-5 minutes after immersion in the water. So operation should be finished in 3-5 minutes. Patients can’t move the affected part in the 10 minutes before sufficient cure
- The cast may be windowed, trimmed or removed with electric plaster saw
Precautions:
- Surgical gloves should be worn while using the cast to avoid that the polyurethane resin adheres to unprotected skin and clothing
- Avoid punching and damaging the bag, as it will cause the cast to solidify prematurely in the bag. Open only one bag at a time and use it immediately, because room humidity can cause the cast to solidify
- The cast should be stored in a cool, dry and ventilated atmosphere. The proper temperature is 15-30OC and humidity should be less than Rh60%
- It should be operated by a doctor or a medical professional
- The date of production is marked on the bag. The period of validity of products three years
